Oh Hai

My name is Jon although I'm better known around here as Purkinje. I am a software developer, Twitch streamer, and gamer.

I first started writing software in 2001 and the first language I learned was Python, which I still use extensively to this day. I write all kinds of random software but my primary focus is on web development. I am versed in many languages and tools such as Python, PHP (gross), Ruby, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL, and many others I'm probably forgetting. Most of my web development experience is using Ruby on Rails, PHP, and Django, which I have recently fallen in love with. Since I started broadcasting on Twitch I have become quite familiar with the Twitch API and have developed countless tools that make the Twitch viewing experience more interactive. My Github is currently a bit naked as I am unable to share most of my projects publicly, but I have a few things in the works that will soon change that!

My very first Twitch broadcast was November 2, 2018 and I've been going ever since. I absolutely love streaming on Twitch and I have made such good friends through the platform. I have streamed a variety of different things on Twitch including various games, just chatting, and coding. However I have primarily only been streaming Warframe lately as I have limited time to stream, I am partnered with Digital Extremes (the developer of Warframe), and I absolutely love the game.

Ever since my family got an NES in the 1980's (which I still own and is in working condition) I have loved video games. I play a wide variety of different games, mostly on PC. While I'm not particularly skilled at any game I play, my focus is on enjoying the content and spending time with friends. My current game addictions are Warframe, Gunfire Reborn, and Satisfactory.
